Elisa Féliz
Elisa Féliz is a professional comic artist/writer, best known for her work in the comic series “Charmed” (Based on the TV show by CBS and published by Zenescope Entertainment) and “Mercy Sparx”, published by Devil’s Due Publishing. She has also previously worked on comic series published by IDW Publishing, Aspen comics and more. Elisa is an entrepreneur with many professions, some of these being music production, web development/design, videogame development, 2D animation, fashion design, photography and more… She’s the owner and founder of XSIDE Comics, Hypelifer and also owns an award winning clothing line called Elliz Clothing, which is the pioneering alternative fashion brand in the Dominican Republic.
Bio:
Féliz was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She started her career at age six by taking part of national and international art contests and exhibitions and was featured on several TV shows and newspapers. She was first published at age 10 in 1998, when her first comic strip was published in the main national newspaper (Listín Diario), not long before she launched her first website at age 12. It was around that time that she started the company that would be XSIDE Comics today, which started with web comic strips and videogames developed by her and her brother.
As a teenager, she started working as a production staff member at SD Concerts’ shows, where she worked in productions such as Cirque du Soleil, Disney on Ice and later on, concerts by Erreway, Belinda, Bieber, Rihanna and many more.
She founded her alternative clothing line Elliz Clothing during her last year of highschool and it was available internationally right away, at its own online store. This was her first time developing an ecommerce website. Right after graduation, she broke into the comic books industry in USA as a penciller, working on several projects by Silent Nemesis Workshop.
Even though she’s a self-taught artist, In 2008, Féliz moved to New Jersey to attend The Kubert School, where she received classes from her idols and graduated with honors in the class of 2011. She is known to be the first dominican to become a sequential artist. She would refuse to publish her own comics before becoming one.
In 2012 she finaly got to work with her idol, Britney Spears as part of the SD concerts staff for her tour “Femme Fatale”. She was a staff supervisor.
Her first music album as “dj Ellix” titled “Heart Drive Reset” came out in 2013. That same year, her first fashion runway for her clothing line took place in Hard Rock Café in Myrtle Beach, SC, United States.
In 2013 she signed as a penciller for Zenescope Entertainment and started as the lead artist for “Charmed: Season 10”. In 2016 she started working for Devil’s Due Publishing.
In 2018 she was interviewed by Noticias Telemundo.
In 2023 Féliz launched her first android/iOS videogame. She also enrolled in the Game Development course at Harvard.
By 2024, Féliz is still representing the Dominican Republic in the comics industry worldwide, while trying to bring a piece of the industry to the DR through XSIDE Comics.
